The benefits of movement
Endorphins, or “the body’s natural painkillers” are released when you exercise. They’re also good for your growing baby: when you feel good, the baby feels good too!
Movement and exercise strengthen the body and improves blood circulation, which in turn reduces swelling in the body, the risk of varicose veins, and other complications. If you are in good condition, your body will cope better with giving birth too.
Be sure to always listen to your body and always consult your midwife or doctor before exercising. Never exercise if something is painful.
